For my groups project, my group and I decided to focus on what many of the groups were also doing, earthquakes.
We agreed that earthquakes were a big problem, so we tried to cushion their damage since we can not fully stop the damage of earthquakes.
We brought out a shake table and began testing materials such as wood and magnets.
We eventually decided to put weights on the bottom, which were housed in a half tennis ball. While many things did change in our project the weights in the tennis ball were the only thing that stayed constant and were kept.
Our design got pretty unrealistic. We were using 7 giant wedges with strings holding up our building. The finished project is below.
Concepts: Forces- anything that pushes or pulls an object
Magnetism- an electrical field that reacts with other electrical fields in different ways

While our project did come out very nicely and cleanly, it was extremely unconventional. We also took quite a lot of time to come up with our idea which was extremely inconvenient.
During our project we had many peaks and pits. while we did finish with a fairly solid idea that did not in fact work very well.
We were also not good at voicing our concerns with each other, but we were yelling most of the time.
During this project i learned that i need to communicate better and manage my time more efficiently.
